Practical Meal Prep Tips

3 Easy Ways To Get Started

I get it - meal prep can often sound overwhelming.

But let me assure you that it does not have to involve hours in the kitchen resulting in pots & pans piled high. The point of meal prep is to ELIMINATE stress, not add to it. These tips are a few ways that you can make it work for you!

Start Small

If the thought of cooking every single meal in advance is too much, good news - you don't have to! Simple things like cleaning or cutting produce, marinating meats ahead of time save work in the kitchen later.

Examples: wash and cut vegetables so they are ready to cook at dinner time

Don't Forget Snacks

I'm a big believer in snacks and feel they play an important role in a successful nutrition plan. But often, this is where people admit feeling like they "slip up". Having snacks planned and readily available as quick grab & go options can be helpful to prevent mindless snacking (or going too long without eating entirely).

Examples: divide out hummus into small containers along with bags of veggies or pita chips that you can just grab from the fridge

Make Meals You Already Love

You don't need to reinvent the wheel here. Simply making your favorite dishes and portioning them out is still meal prep! You'll be more likely to actually eat it too.

Examples: take note of meals that leave you feeling satisfied and energized so you can plan in advance to prepare them

(But if you need inspiration for NEW flavors, I've got you covered here too)
